  1. If I were to trust the observations of my critics I would 
  2. despond and despair to the point of cutting my 
  3. throat. However, I find a certain amount of pleasure in 
  4. such activities as I engage in and it is mainly in the 
  5. process of making discoveries that I find my 
  6. satisfactions. I find no satisfactions whatever in 
  7. reading about them or I can‚Äôt bear to re-read anything 
  8. I‚Äôve ever written. Or I couldn‚Äôt bear to re-hear anything 
  9. I‚Äôve ever said. That is, I might have to bear it, but it 
  10. wouldn‚Äôt be fun.
